Case report :
A 34-year-old healthy woman, G2P1, was referred to our antenatal unit at 34 weeks for 3rd ultrasound examination.
Fetus morphology was normal. However, we found posterior placenta with velamentous cordonal insertion (IVC) (Figure 1, 2). At 34 weeks, the cervix was always closed. The placenta was posterior. There was no abnormal uterine bleeding.
At 36 weeks, the placental assessment was the same.
A cesarean section was done early at 37 weeks without problem. The posterior placenta with velamentous cord was confirmed (Figure 4). Thus we prevented a Benckiser hemorrhage.
