Case report

The images bellow were taken in a fetus with a congenital toxoplasmosis during a third-trimester examination. Calcifications and endocardial fibroelastosis were seen within the fetal heart. Tricuspid and mitral regurgitations and hypoplastic aortic arch with dilatation of the pulmonary artery were also present, and the left heart was hypokinetic.

Images 1, 2: The images show a four chamber-view of the heart with hyperechoic endocardial layer representing endocardial fibroelastosis (arrow).

Images 3, 4: The images show thin aorta (image 3) and enlarged pulmonary artery (image 4).

Image 5, 6: Color Doppler transverse scans at the level of the four-chamber view showing the atrioventricular regurgitation.
