Case report
A 39-year-old woman (G1 P0) with a non-contributive personal and family history was referred to our unit at 17 weeks. Her ultrasound scan at 13 weeks was normal (nuchal translucency 1 mm, CRL 60 mm). Triple was negative (1/500) and amniocentesis was not performed.
During our examination at 17 weeks we found abnormal kidneys with multicystic lesions (images 1-6) and absence of normal parenchyma. The urinary bladder was empty and severe oligohydramnios was present. The heart looked normal.
The parents opted for the interruption of the pregnancy at 25 weeks, but the pathological analysis was not done.
