The following are the ultrasound images of a fetus infected with cytomegalovirus and scanned at 23 weeks of gestation. An amniocentesis was performed and the virus was found in the amniotic fluid. The pregnancy was terminated at 24 weeks of gestation and an autopsy confirmed the findings. The virus was cultured from the brain and liver.
