Case report
A 25-year-old woman, G5P4, presented to our department at 14 weeks of pregnancy. A thick, irregularly multicystic placenta was found giving the impression of a partial mole. The fetus appeared to be normal. An amniocentesis was done at 16 weeks of pregnancy and found normal karyotype (46, XY). The patient presented again at 26 and 30 weeks of pregnancy. At that time the placenta was thicker but its appearance was almost normal. The patient gave birth to healthy neonate at 35 weeks (2200 g) but the histological examination of the placenta revealed the diagnosis of diffuse chorioangioma.
