Answer

We present a case of congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (ccTGA), which was confirmed after birth.

The ultrasound images demonstrate atrioventricular and ventriculoarterial discordance with the right ventricle on the left side and vice versa. There was a moderator band on the left side and the lumen of the left side was shorter than right side.

  • Video 1: the tricuspid valve's papillary muscles (located on the left side) were attached to the heart's apex and septum. The mitral valve's papillary muscles (on the right side) were attached to the lateral wall of the morphological left ventricle (located on the right side).
  • Videos 2-4: the aorta arose from the left-sided (morphologically right) ventricle and that the pulmonary artery arose from the right-sided (morphologically left) ventricle.
