Bilobate placenta

Case report

Following images show a case of bilobate placenta diagnosed at 22 weeks and confirmed after birth. Search for low laying placental insertion and vasa praevia was negative.

Images 1, 2: The images show both parts of the placenta with the anterior (*) and posterior (**) lobes. They are almost of the same size which is a characteristic feature of bilobate placentas.
